PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The LoB Finance team is an experienced group within SAP working on several core SAP products, including the recently launched S/4HANA Finance. The focus of the group is on driving innovations in their product portfolio and playing a crucial frontrunner role on new apps, technologies, architectures, and processes.

The group is currently founding a new development unit with a global setup that will focus on development of front-end apps, leveraging latest technologies and latest SAP backend logic of the S/4HANA Finance and other ecosystems. The unit will be at the very forefront of development activities of the LoB Finance and the overall SAP P&I Development organization – leveraging latest technologies, with highest visibility and impact.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a leading architect within the organization of the new unit, your key responsibilities include:
• Leadership of a development unit with direct line responsibility (HR responsibility)
• Development of state-of-the applications
• Responsibility for in time and quality deliver of agreed apps and scope
• Expert guidance on architectural frontend topics in close collaboration with your senior team members

Key tasks will include:
• Management of highly qualified developers
• Defining, deciding, and discussing architectural topics of worked on apps
• General project management tasks
• Alignment with senior stakeholders across the globe
• Strong focus on leading people to execute on set delivery plans
• Lead and management co-innovation projects
• Management of inbound and outbound communication, also on (senior) management/board level and monitoring of development progress and execution
• Defining and managing strategy, operations, and execution for the your development team
• Responsibility on providing transparency to stakeholders and delivering needed analyses
• Close collaboration with current LoB Finance units, P&I development units and other key stakeholders

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required:
• University degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, economics or related field
• Strong academic track record with excellent results in short time frame
• Experience in managing large-scale projects incl. a number of stakeholders are required
• Experience in complex analyses and deriving implications / proposals / decisions options
• Ability to interact, discuss, and challenge board-level management, based on prior experience
• Strong knowledge of key economic analyses, frameworks, and best practices
• Strong team player with the mind-set to work in a high-impact team
• Strong co-innovation and customer focus
• Finance and Accounting knowledge is required
• Practical experience in software development and LEAN methodologies are required
• Experience working with databases, such as HANA, MySQL, NoSQL
• Frontend knowledge: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS programming skills (experience with SCALA-JS a clear plus)
• Strong understanding of OOP
• Some experience in programming with Java (experience with SCALA a clear plus)
• Familiarity TDD
• Must be a team player and have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly proficient in both spoken and written English

Beneficial:
• Experience working with SAPUI5, ODATA, JSON, AJAX
• Experience with SAP FI/CO or related modules
