Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

- DB administration (installation, configuration, tuning, backup strategy, capacity planning)
- DB architecture design
- DB monitoring (online monitoring and evaluation of system load / application performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to end users and applications )
- DB performance tuning:
- SQL tuning / PL/SQL tuning advises
- using & setup performance monitoring / analysis tools (AWR, trace, etc.) / proactive monitoring
- analysis of system statistics regarding performance of system & application (AWR reports, AWR tables, SAR)
- providing suggestions about data re-structuring
- design setup of regular DB maintenance activities (rebuild indexes, merging partitions, ...)
- work closely with database application programmers
- understanding applications from the DB level
- writing and maintaining database documentation
- evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products
