The client is a large European Cable Operator developing a next generation DTV platform providing triple-play and over-the-top video services to its customers.
As part of this project, the client is looking for an Embedded Systems Developer to contribute to the port of a Middleware Framework on a legacy embedded STB. The developer will work with TV applications developers.

As part of this project, the client is looking for an Embedded Systems Developer to contribute to the port of a Middleware Framework on a legacy embedded STB. The developer will work with TV applications developers.

Education level: Minimum of bachelor degree.
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years related experience in an expert delivery environment within STB/DVB/DTV arena. – previous job, writing applications
Expert Knowledge in/of:
o Solid understanding of C, C++
o Knowledge of ARM, x86, MIPS64, Microchip 8 & 16 bit architectures
o Expert knowledge of Operating Systems such as VxWorks or Linux/RTLinux/ucLinux (including ability to develop Linux kernel patches) -
o Good knowledge of Device Drivers and device driver development and tuning
o Graphics chip set programming skills
o Graphics application development skills on embedded systems
EU Citizenship
Extended experience in:
o Working with customers to explain their options, review the benefits of each solution and ensure the customer’s business requirements are satisfied with the design.
o Experience/ability to be technology lead supporting the setup of an overall architecture, reviewing and approving designs with tech leads, code reviews, debugging
o Strong analytical skills; ability to see at both the high level view and focus on detail if required; ability to apply technology to solve business problems.
o Determination and drive to consistently and successfully deliver according to commitment (results driven).
o Pro-active individual - able to see issues and suggest solutions before they arise. Fluent in English, other European languages are an advantage.
o Good communication skills and understanding of various cultures.
Below skills are an added advantage:
o Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
o Other languages such as Assembler.
o Experience with DVB and MPEG digital TV standards.
o Experience with Conditional Access / Digital Rights Management systems.
o Experience with cloud-based client implementations.
