Mobile Test Systems Analyst

PURPOSE
Under general supervision creates and executes test cases for mid-size computer systems or discrete portions of a larger computer system to verify that the documented requirements of the system have been successfully met. Ensures that test cases are authored to fulfill testing objectives defined as part of the broader project/system testing strategy and that authoring and execution activities follow a requirements-driven testing approach in compliance with procedures for functional requirements testing (OQ) and user requirement testing (PQ). Works with other members of the development team to ensure accurate and timely communication around and delivery of assigned tasks in order to ensure that end-products will perform as expected upon release to production. Ensures that software defects or issues are documented completely and in a timely fashion to support status reporting and decision making performed by management and project stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Authors defined sets of test cases within the scope of a broader defined testing strategy and may be involved in test strategy development for projects and systems.
Authors test cases for mid-size computer systems, or discrete portions of a larger computer system, and works with other members of the project team to gain necessary input and execute appropriate revisions to ensure accurate and complete software testing activities.
Creates test data to support test case execution and supports creation and maintenance of libraries of reusable test data sets. Executes test cases and logs/retests issues found.
Assists in internal peer reviews of test cases from other Analysts prior to and following execution as required to ensure issues/errors with the test scripts are identified and resolved.
Possess a working understanding of the requirements elicitation, analysis, and specification process including user requirement specifications and functional specifications for mid-size applications.
Reports status, progress and concerns in a proactive, consistent and accurate manner to senior SVT team members and to the IT Project Manager directly or via the Testing Lead.
Knowledge and understanding of, and willingness to adhere to, system and project testing strategies/approaches and the CSV and SLC processes adopted by Quintiles
Keeps current on software applications testing industry knowledge and computer validation systems knowledge by attending industry conferences, reading industry periodicals and training via workshop attendance and self-study.
Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions for human resource matters.
Performs other duties as required.
