PURPOSE

· Individual contributor role to:
- Work amongst suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure vendors successfully complete each step of the Quintiles vendor setup and qualification processes.
- Work closely with Quintiles Buyers, suppliers and other stakeholders to support the business through the vendor qualification and vendor setup processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Professionally represent Quintiles to suppliers while acting as a point of contact for their assistance in getting through the Quintiles vendor qualification and onboarding processes.
· Work with functional stakeholders to identify requirements and establish the purchasing process steps and timetables.
· May act as contact point for the business to explain and support their efforts to successfully complete the PO Requisition, vendor setup, and vendor qualification processes.
· Interact with employees and suppliers in a variety of European languages to ensure they provide accurate and complete information to allow suppliers to be properly established.
· Manipulate Microsoft Excel to properly analyze and report departmental results.
· Manipulate PeopleSoft to ensure suppliers are created properly.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Knowledge of purchasing or procurement processes.
· Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with representatives from other companies in English and at least one other European language.
· Data analysis and manipulation skills.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Ability to exercise judgment within procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
· Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and vendors.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Economics with experience in accounting, purchasing, supply chain management, materials management, or procurement; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
· PeopleSoft purchasing experience an added advantage
· Ariba experience an added advantage

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Extensive use of telephone and other communications requiring accurate perception of speech.
· Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers.
· Regular sitting for extended periods of time.
