We’re looking for a talented and energetic Coding Specialist to join our team! This is an exciting role for a graduate looking to move into Clinical Research and join a dynamic and growing company!
Responsible for coding clinical/medical terminology (e.g. adverse events, medical history, concomitant medications) in accordance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Working Practice Documents (WPDs), and any applicable sponsor documentation (e.g. guidelines, conventions).
You'll be Accountable for:
Classifying medical and pharmaceutical coding terms utilizing various coding programs, MedDra and WHODrug dictionaries
Ensuring consistency of coding across projects
Managing assigned project timelines and prioritization of tasks
Maintaining a clinical understanding of medical terminology, clinical research development, adverse event reporting and standardized dictionaries
Communication with data management and Clinical Operations when terms are inadequate, ambiguous, or unclear for coding purposes
Reviewing data for consistency
You'll Need this to be Considered:
Ability to use interactive computer programs
Good computer skills and database experience
Excellent English communication skills (verbal, written & interpersonal)
Demonstrated strong customer service/interactions skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Experience in researching utilizing multiple resources, publications and the internet
Understanding of clinical/medical terminology related to adverse events to be able to code correctly
Ideally you will have a working knowledge of coding dictionaries (e.g. MedDRA) and understanding of the coding process
Master’s degree in a related allied health profession (MD or Pharmacist preferred)
