KOOPERATIVA poisťovňa, a.s. Vienna Insurance Group was
established on October 30, 1990 as the first private universal
insurer in Slovakia. One of the most outstanding insurers in
Austria, Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG Vienna Insurance
Group, is the majority shareholder of the company with
a direct or indirect share of 100 per cent. KOOPERATIVA is
a member of strong European Vienna Insurance Group with
representations all over Europe.
In recent years, KOOPERATIVA poisťovňa, a.s. Vienna Insurance
Group has recorded a steep growth of its market share and
extended its business activities, in the framework of which
it acquired the KOMUNÁLNA poisťovňa, a.s. Vienna Insurance
Group.
Poisťovňa Slovenskej sporiteľne has also already joined the
Group, as the Erste Group Bank concluded the sale of its
insurance companies in Central and Eastern Europe to Vienna
Insurance Group in autumn 2008. The common market share
of the Vienna Insurance Group companies in Slovakia as of
December 31, 2008 exceeded 31 per cent.
KOOPERATIVA poisťovňa, a.s. Vienna Insurance Group offers
private customers and natural and legal persons more than
100 life and non-life insurance products. Due to the fact that
all offered products and their general insurance terms and
conditions comply with the European standard, the number
of customers almost exceeded 1.2 million and the number of
policies exceeded 1.5 million.
