Job description, responsibilities and duties

As a CDN Service Security Architect, you will play a key role in the transformation and simplification of CDN services. Your mission is double within the team: engineering and architecture of CDN services; and CDN security contact.


Engineering & Architecture of CDN Services

  • Designing CDN Service architecture in response to business requirements, by defining and combining all the necessary building blocks.
  • Defining functional, organic, and technical engineering and architectures for CDN networks based on the needs of the services and all the given constraints, such as impact on existing systems, QoS, resilience, performance, etc.
  • Promoting and validating the architecture choices and ensuring that they are documented.
  • Contributing to the implementation of the proposed CDN solutions and monitoring them by integrating a project methodology. You will lead and animate the experts needed to build the global solutions.
  • Keeping a CDN technological watch, working closely with our suppliers, skills centres, and Orange Wholesale's team of architects.


CDN Security Contact

  • Working closely with WESEC Security officers / stream service stream leader; and act as CDN security contact.
  • Ensuring the development of the CDN offering and associated services, the developments carried out in terms of backend/GW and all the components used such as OPC, IDH etc meet Orange Wholesales' s security requirements.
  • Coordinating the activities in support of the CDN Service Manager to ensure the security rules are enforced and security best practices implemented in de design and architecture of CDN services. Points relating to the intrinsic security of the CDN solution at both engineering and operational levels.

Personality requirements and skills

Technical Proficiency:

  • Technical expertise in Security: firewalls, security gateways, intrusion prevention, encryption
  • A good Knowledge of computer security good practices: NIST, CIS, etc.
  • Experience with security risk assessment, e.g., ISO27005 methodology
  • Technical expertise in IP network fundamentals (IP/routing, TCP/UDP/ICMP, DNS, ntp...)


Additional Expertise (Not Mandatory, but Highly Valued):

  • Understanding of CDN, video streaming & web caching protocols, with a willingness to explore related technological solutions.
  • Good understanding of web architecture and protocols (http, https...). 
  • Basic understanding of software development, especially Python, and scripting.
  • Basic knowledge of the cloud environment and virtualization (VMs, containers).
