Job description, responsibilities and duties
The person in this position is part of an IT Architecture team with the following responsibilities:
• Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications.
• Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications.
• Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to defined standards.
• Defines and effectively deploys global architectural solutions (storage, servers, etc.) that meet customers’ requirements through collaboration with our internal customers.
• Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
• Evaluates manufacturer product and service offerings to ascertain technical and operational viability and sustainability within the ON Semi environment.
• Writes technical standards and procedures on the new architectures put in place allowing the Operations teams to reuse and to maintain these solutions.
• Act in the role of Infrastructure Manager, Unix/Linux consultant, etc.
• Provides Tier 3 IT Operational Support as escalated by Service Desk and Operations to resolve IT issues to keep the business running.
