Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are excited to announce that we are expanding our team! We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Bratislava office, supporting our Irish and UK sister accounting firms. This pivotal role will involve:

  • Handling a variety of accounting tasks for our clients, such as processing invoices, bank statements, payroll journals, and petty expenses.
  • Actively resolving accounting discrepancies and processing business trip and monthly financial statements.
  • Preparing monthly reports for management review and assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
  • Contributing to the preparation of tax and VAT returns, financial plans, and both internal and external audits.
  • Performing other accounting and administrative duties as needed to support the group accountant.


This role also encompasses leadership responsibilities, including:

  • Recruiting and training team members.
  • Leading a small, dynamic team, ensuring the accuracy of their work and the timely completion of tasks.
  • Overseeing administrative activities and directly reporting to the group accountant.


Please note, that proficiency in English is essential as all documentation and our accounting system are in English.


Work is carried out on a hybrid model of days in the office and days working remotely.

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Senior Accountant with a proactive attitude, eager to tackle challenges and participate in international projects. Here’s what you need to bring to the table:

- At least 4 years of experience in managing complex double-entry bookkeeping for multiple clients.
- At least 4 years of experience in preparing financial statements using double-entry bookkeeping for multiple clients.
- Strong understanding of accounting and tax laws.
- Proficiency in an accounting software is essential.
- An independent and consistent work ethic with a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.
- Excellent teamwork skills are crucial.

Additional qualifications that will set you apart include experience with Xero accounting software, fluent English, and a willingness to engage in business travel abroad, particularly to Ireland.
