Implementation of Lean management and Lean tools, continuous improvement throughout the factory:
- Analyzing manufacturing process flows
- Value stream mapping for all processes
- Lead and facilitate lean driven events throughout the value streams that deliver breakthrough process improvements
- Drive change in culture towards one of continuous improvement and lean principles
- Implement continuous improvement projects to address quality, material flow, through-put and productivity improvements and contribute to the success the lean manufacturing effort
- Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction and output
- Provide plant-wide, engineered operational analysis and production support to manufacturing which will result in lowering product cost, improving labor performance, cycle times, eliminating bottlenecks and improving throughput levels
- Apply lean tools in the manufacturing environment. Analyze current work methods and processes for manufacturing operations by job functions and identify opportunities for improvement using Kaizen, shop floor management tools, and other continuous improvement tools
- Through time study analysis and methods development, quantify and qualify labor standards down to the operation level; make comparisons to actual for variance reviews
- Utilise appropriate Lean tools to create process stability and flow within the manufacturing processes
- Develop team member skills in the area of problem solving and continuous impro- vement
- Actively support the sustainment and improvement of the Visual Factory, Standard Work, Kaizen, Asset Care, Line and Process design, Capacity Planning, Line Balancing, Production Leveling, and Pull systems
- Work with the New Product Introductions Group to incorporate lean principles in product and process design and development
- Actively promote the use of the DMAIC framework for all reengineering type activities
- Leads preventive and predictive maintenance efforts to maximize plant uptime and reduce maintenance costs while improving reliability, quality and productivity
- Co-operation by the preparation of the investment plans and costs of the department
- Co-operation by the definition of the material flow in line, definition of the way of the storage, and manipulation of the materials and production components
- Co-operation by the increase of the ergonomics of the working spaces, as well as by the protection of the environment, and working safety in line with the valid legislation and the inter-company directives
- Apply all the required environmental, health and safety standards
