The AP Resolutions Senior Specialist supports the Novartis NGSC AP Solution Center with the highest standards of customer experience delivery. Reduce customer effort on Accounts Payable related issue resolution by investigating and following through AP documents that have either entered in a deviation/exception status or are classified as aged/overdue or in dispute. The AP Resolutions Senior Specialist makes tactical use of strong accounts payable, systems and processes knowledge to proactively address towards suppliers and Novartis business users the resolution of such cases until final resolution is achieved.

Job Purpose:
80% of the role relates to communicating with internal and external stakeholders on the resolution of invoices that have been blocked for payment for diverse reasons. Ownership over the resolution of cases is fundamental. 20% relates to report building in excel, account reconciliations, ad hoc analysis over suppliers and processes and participation in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely resolution of Invoices which have price or quantity deviations and follow-ups including debit balances
  • Oversight of Goods Receipt / Invoice Receipt and timely clearing of GRIR account
  • Completes tickets forwarded by Customer Service accurately and within TAT
  • Monitoring of Backlog and proactively follow up with assigned Teams
  • Performs month end reporting and account reconciliation
  • Suggest improvements to processes and systems
  • Support and assist continuous improvement initiatives

The ideal candidate will have:
  • University degree – preferably in Accounting/Finance or business administration
  • Language: English (written and spoken) and preferably a 2nd European language
  • Experience from AP/R2P or financial services in a Shared Service Center environment: Minimum 2 years
  • Strong technical competence in SAP preferred
  • Basic MS Excel skills – tables, formulas, pivot tables etc.
  • Strong communication skills and analytical competencies
  • Customer service orientation, professional attitude, reliable
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrix organization
