Job description, responsibilities and duties
- Disease Area Manager (office + field) is responsible for the creation and execution of national and territory marketing plans for the assigned product portfolio. Accountable for driving and optimizing profitability, sales, market share growth and revenue.
- Elaborate local strategy and tactical plans for the brands and ensure their implementation; this includes developing close relationships and calling on targeted customers as well as executing field activities.
- To actively develop the right marketing and promotional mix to meet brand sales objectives and customer needs. To create and deliver strategic and operational plans appropriate to the life-cycle of the brand so as to optimize return for Novartis.
- To build and develop strategic/operational forecasting from a robust patient model.
- To ensure operative definition and control of the brand budgets including forecasting, expense management and evaluating cost effectiveness.
- Actively manage inventory levels of allocated products ensuring continuous supply at minimum necessary inventory levels; ensure supply of Slovak-packaged goods for Slovak patients
- To monitor business performance and the external environment and to deliver corrective action as required. Proactively partner with the field force (if applicable), medical department and stakeholders to understand market dynamics and create brand messaging.
- To leverage disease and market knowledge to gain customer insights by means of appropriate tools and techniques. To translate market intelligence into Brand strategies and programs.
- To develop and continuously update his/her own and the team's knowledge regarding relevant disease areas, treatment options (including competitors), and Novartis products.
- To demonstrate entrepreneurial/“out-of-the box” thinking by generating and implementing new ideas to grow the assigned products portfolio.
- To build cross-functional/Regional/Global partnerships, to ensure alignment on projects/processes and to share best practices.
- To create and manage excellent matrix relationships internally and with external clients/agencies. The role requires key cross-functional collaboration with: medical, market access and marketing experts, sales professionals, Key Opinion Leaders.
- To manage a dynamic motivated cross-functional team and to lead it to meet stated objectives (if applicable).
- To achieve national/territory sales and market share targets. To drive sales in the by means of proactive territory and account planning, relationship-building and good influencing skills.
- To ensure right targeting and segmentation of relevant customers and execute meaningful call plan.
- To ensure compliance in all interaction throughout the organization and to liaise regularly with the Regional and Local compliance functions to see that all processes and activities are compliant with internal and external policies (provisions of relevant law, SOPs, NP4, EFPIA/AIFP code, global guidelines).
