Job description, responsibilities and duties

Hosting operations Engineer will be primarily responsible for deployment, implementation, hosting, on-going maintenance, and support of software solutions. Success in this position will require IT skills, and strong organizational abilities to effectively propel customer projects to successful completion. Additional required skills include the ability to automate hosting operations, implement comprehensive monitoring solutions, and provide consulting and support to our customers.
Duties :
• Configure and optimize the batch scheduling jobs, scripts and related systems
• Identify and document best practices for batch scheduling and job processing
• Identify and document common batch scheduling and job processing issues and resolutions, and contribute to the creation of run books.
• Monitor daily status of batch and online operations of the hosted service
• Identify and resolve operational issues (e.g. batch failures, network issues, client data feed errors) by working with the managed service provider
• Partner with other technical teams to resolve Level 2 through Level 3 issues (i.e. application support, DB’s, and the Managed Service Provider)
• Work directly with client technical staff to resolve data delivery (ftp) and job processing issues.
• Support Deployment Engineers with new customer implementations, e.g. account setup, software installations, testing, back loading data, etc.
• Work with the MSP to support continuous improvements and product upgrades to the applications and systems of the hosted environment
• Maintain operational documentation, e.g. incident tracking and run books
