Extraordinary opportunity to work from home only with CET work time

This role ensures that all infrastructure and applications operate without interruption in support of services provided to IBM SmartCloud Enterprise Plus (SCE+) Managed Backup Customers. This includes managing of all systems worldwide and problem resolution to include engaging engineering and vendor support as well as other SCE+ Support Teams. Responsibilities will include leading the resolution of hardware/software issues, integration of new service capabilities, deployment of new cloud locations and infrastructure, as well as coordination/execution of disaster recovery, client agent installation, and audit response/governance adherence for business controls. Candidate must be able to analyze and resolve faults as well as recommend and implement system and application changes to optimize service performance.

Personality requirements and skills

• At least 2 years professional experience in rational database DB2/Oracle and SQL
• At least 2 years of professional experience in UNIX/LINUX administration/usage, with the ability to work in a Linux/Unix command line and OS environment
• Willingness to up skill in area of ISM tool (SCCD preferred) with special focus SRM/CCMDB area, some Maximo/ISM Administration or other Tivoli product knowledge desirable
• Knowledge of ITIL processes with focus on Incident, Problem, Change management
• Experience with WebSeal/Reverse Proxy, WebSphere, DB2, LDAP and installing and troubleshooting web based applications.
• Provide 24/7 support in an on-call rotation - candidate must be flexible for meeting the needs of the business
• Support and enforce the IT Service Management processes agreed in CMS environment (Incident management, change management, problem management, request fulfillment, release management)
• Maintain standard operating procedures specifically focused on the application area
• Participate in maintenance and creation of the architectural documentation and information training to facilitate knowledge transfer in the IT organization
• Analyzing problems, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations that support department goals and objectives
• Managing and organizing multiple projects and assignments
• Managing systems to corporate compliance policies

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of IBM Service Management (ISM) v7 technology or SCCD 7.5
• Knowledge of reporting platforms - BIRT or COGNOS or Actuate
• Knowledge in area of WebSphere or BeaWeblogic middleware
