Job description, responsibilities and duties

Habitat for Humanity International is seeking services of an experienced website writer and editor to:
1. Work with Habitat for Humanity EMEA staff to review and recommend changes to the content of its website www.habitat.org/emea
2. Re-write the website’s content to bring it up to date and improve it SEO and Google AdWords search ratings.
The aim of the role is to update and improve the content of the website to make it more user friendly and effective in communicating the region’s work to opinion leaders and other key stakeholders.

Main Objectives

Stage 1
• Review the current website’s content with EMEA staff to determine what needs to be updated
• Recommend a plan and timeline to meet with and interview EMEA staff to gain insight into their areas and rewrite their sections of the website.
Stage 2
• Re-write the website’s content to update it and/or create new material in a way that improves SEO and Google AdWords rating

Project Description

Habitat for Humanity EMEA’s website is out of date and contains information that needs to be re-written and created new to reflect the organization’s new strategic direction and the work being done at the regional, sub-regional and national levels. The new website will be used as a resource for opinion leaders/formers, government officials, partners and the general public as a means of better understanding what Habitat is doing in the region and the impact its work is having on individuals, communities and others involved in shelter. It will also need to ensure that engagement on the site or through social media is increased and that the user journey can be supported in a way that projects what Habitat EMEA is doing in the best possible light.
We are asking interested companies to propose a writer or writing team that would be able to review the website. The company will need to propose their ideas and recommendations on the best way to move forward. Critically, they will need to be well-versed in SEO and Google AdWords writing, creating compelling and interesting copy, and able to work both on site and remotely in the development of content. The team should be made up of native (or extremely fluent) English language speakers (English is the website’s language) and have a successful (and referenced) history of re-writing for regional websites that are part of a larger global organization and have a range of national organizations and target audiences that need to be reached.

Job Description
Act as the writer of Habitat for Humanity EMEA’s website (www.habitat.org/EMEA).
You would be working closely with the Habitat for Humanity (HFH) EMEA team. Please expect regular teleconference sessions to discuss your work. You may also be required to travel to Bratislava. You will be coordinating your work with Chris Sorek, Katerina Bezgachina, and Eliska Nanistova from HFH EMEA and who will work with you on priority actions as we go along. You are expected to work on the following:
1. The Consultant will be in charge of re-writing and editing the EMEA website with the goal of updating content and writing to improve SEO and Google AdWords performance making the website more user-friendly and reader oriented.
2. Conduct interviews with the EMEA Program staff and others to get the information needed to update and re-write the website’s content.
3. Advise on and suggest additional changes and adjustments in the copy and links to further improve user journeys and ultimately time spent on site.
4. Advise the HFH EMEA team on how best to write for the website and social media to ensure they are aligned, compelling and strength our engagement with target audiences.
5. On a quarterly basis revise the website’s content based on new information.

a) The names of the proposed personnel who would be responsible for delivery of the service.
b) Specific details of the seniority, practical experience and proven expertise of the personnel in question, which would be relevant to the work outlined in this document.

References

Provide contact information of two current/recent clients willing to provide references in support of the firm’s relevant experience and expertise as well as websites completed along with reviews/awards if any.

Costs

a) The quotation/quoted fee must be in Euro (EUR) and should be exclusive of VAT. VAT and other appropriate taxes shall be quoted separately where appropriate and at the appropriate rate. Where VAT is not applicable this should be explicitly stated.
b) Fee calculation must provide two separate quotes for services;
a. The work done in Stage 1
b. Average hourly rate to be applied to quarterly updates
c) Where applicable provide detailed fee breakdown.

Proposals in response to this RFP will be prepared at the sole cost and expense of the responding party. Submission of a proposal in response to this RFP indicates acceptance by the respondent of the conditions stated in this RFP, unless clearly and specifically noted in the proposal submitted and confirmed in a subsequent agreement between Habitat for Humanity International and the respondent selected.
