Customs Project Coordinator

You will be supporting Mondelez projects related to customs processes. The role oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of a specific short-term project This role will be also in the day to day operation of the European Customs Tower to control and audit import movements into and out of the EU. The person will be building and maintaining a good relationship with the local teams and Customs authorities to ensure compliance with National customs standards and regulations.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing tariff classification for proper customs duty rates
  • Setting business models in accordance with the customs legislation, Project management for customs area knowledge of simplified procedures, suggestion of suitable customs regime for new production projects, UCC
  • Setting up customs procedures / trade facilitation in line with the ethical and legal compliance
  • Support the business by providing costs effective solutions to import and export issues
  • Liaising with Customs brokers / Customs Authorities
  • Assisting with external Customs Audits
  • Backup for Customs Operational issues
  • Internal audit of import Customs declaration to ensure that they are correct.
  • Review un-discharged T1 documents and arrange for retrospective Customs declarations to be completed to avoid potential Customs Penalties
  • Review ad-hoc tariff classifications by obtaining recipe information to ensure that the duty rates are correct
  • Support the business by providing costs effective solutions to import and export issues.
  • General knowledge of Customs importing
  • Liaise with the following business partners: Local country/ plant teams – project-based; Finance – Cost Centers for Duty charges on deferment account
  • Inward Process Relief (IPR) / support a company exports sugar-containing products outside the EU for GB/IE
  • Support trade of sugar for GB, IE, ES, PL, CZ
  • Apply and maintain the current IPR authorization to AEO standards
  • Set up process to monitor and import INF5 sugar
  • Submit Monthly IPR report and SKU lists to Customs
  • Submitting Customs documentation amendments

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1) and German - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

  • Extensive Customs experience
  • Experience in Administration
  • Experience in Logistics in an advantage
  • University or Equivalent Level Education
  • Being action oriented, proactive and resourceful in solving problems
  • Highly organised and able to multitask
  • Project and process management skills
  • Knowledge of sea / air transport
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of mandatory changes of Customs declarations
  • Ability to understand the Customs Tariff and the EU -
  • Customs Code
  • Tariff Classification verification
  • Experience of SAP
  • Experience of iNet logistic system would be an advantage
  • English language - advanced
  • German language - advanced
  • Third language (Spanish, Norwegian, French) would be an advantage
