A new role based in Bratislava, Slovakia for a Customs Tower Supervisor. The role will assist the Customs Duties Manager in setting up a European Customs Tower to control and audit import & export movements into and out of the EU. Once the Customs Tower is set up the Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day running of the Customs Tower. Initial countries involved will be NO, CH, DE & GB.

Responsibilities
  • Day to day supervising of the Customs Control Tower process
  • Supervising two direct reports
  • Reviewing and controlling customs clearance documentation to be ready for countries audits
  • Checking customs documentation errors and delegating appropriate actions to team members
  • Setting up written procedures for each audit country
  • Reviewing customs / tariffs to find process improvements and duty savings
  • Establishing and maintaining relations with customs brokers and manage the rates
  • Ensuring the execution of the contracts with Carriers is in line with the customs legislation

English - Advanced (C1) or German - Upper intermediate (B2)

SAP - Basic

Personality requirements and skills

Qualification/skills:
1. Must have 5+ years Customs experience at a European level.
2. Working knowledge of import / export requirements and law especially for road freight movements in Europe.
3. Knowledge of sea / air transports.
4. Knowledge of IPR in the food sector.
5. Working knowledge of European Customs Audits.
6. Ability to work with little supervision.
7. Understanding of Preferential Origin rules.
8. Good communication skills (written and verbal).
9. Experience of SAP and Customs software packages.
10. A second European language especially German (English) would be an advantage.
11. Must be confident in dealing with Customs Authorities.
