The role
This isn’t your average tea-making, hand-holding internship. We’ll put you on real projects from the start, developing your natural talents and providing you with insights that will change the way you look at everything from smartphones to search engines and beyond.
You’ll be working in CCG (Consumer Channel Group) Department. As Category Management Intern you’ll working with specifics category/categories of products (for example, Windows, Office, Office 365, Windows Devices, PC accessories, ect) through all consumer channels (retails, equipment manufacturers, etc). We offer a position in a young, driven team that works within the dynamic world of consumer product management, marketing and sales. You’ll be working on the edge of Microsoft consumer products and services in a technology world that is changing faster than ever.

Projects/Responsibilities:
• Category data monitoring and Retail sales analysis;
• Monitoring of Microsoft and Competitors products data from retailers;
• Tracking sell-in data and sell-through data;
• Understanding partner objectives and metrics and helping partners drive category and product success;
• Understanding the consumer: behaviours, attitudes and motivations;
• Optimizing the consumer experience to allow our partners to drive share, revenue, and category profit while building preference for Microsoft products.
You’ll be working in world-class category management team and focus on developing and executing multi-channel category management plans and programs that drive product demand and sell-thru, improve the customer experience, deliver high business results, and create high partner satisfaction.
Our intern program provides you with an opportunity to experience the technological industry first-hand. By applying your education to a real-life working environment, you will receive a solid foundation of experience as a Microsoft intern. Through project-based work across key business initiatives, as well as hands-on experience you will be exposed to many aspects of the business and draw upon your varied skill set and build a professional network.

Qualifications and requirements

• 2015 or 2016 graduate – Bachelor or Master Degree;
• Degree in economics/management/business/computer science/IT or related technical discipline (ie math, engineering) will be an advantage;
• Previous experience in analytics, project management, product management, operations will be a plus;
• Passion for the technology and innovation;
• Excellent communication, negotiations and cross-group collaboration skills;
• Focus on details;
• Knowledge of Excel will be an advantage;
• Passion for data accuracy and attentiveness to details;
• Good project management skills;
• Analytical problem solving skills;
• Self-motivation;
• Confidence;
• Strong Team Player;
• Ability to work independently and to prioritize tasks accordingly;
• Passion for driving results and seeing projects through to completion;
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet commitments;
• Fluent Slovak/Czech and working level of English;
• Able to work (full-time or part-time) starting from January/February 2016;
• Most important is the willingness to gain new skills and learn further.
