Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

The aim of the role is to be responsible for all financial and management accounting activities. These include statutory and management reporting requirements, budgeting and forecasting. The person holding the role will be responsible for policy and procedure development. In particular, the role should be involved in establishing strategies and maintaining appropriate controls for management of financial operational and other risks, including internal control framework.

The tasks of the Finance Manager (m/f) are as follows, but not limited to:

Control the preparation of monthly and year end reporting;

Preparation of various reports on financial performance and activities including cash flow forecasting, profits and other financial results;

Maintenance and development of financial systems to support the financial objectives of the company;

Examine financial policies, procedures and financial practises and modify them to ensure they are in line with the company's best practises;

Maximise and enhancement of profit, cash flow and profitability of the Slovak operation;

Supervise the maintenance of the general ledgers. Prepare department and division operating and financial statements, budgets and forecasts;

Preparation of annual accounts package in accordance with relevant accounting standards;

Management of cash flow to ensure financial stability and daily, weekly and monthly cash flow forecasting;

Assist in business development with commercial activities as directed;

Reconcile bank statements and see to insurance matters as required;

Co-operate with external auditors and maintain contact authorities.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

MSc or BSc in finance and accounting;

At least 5-10 years of experience in a management role within finance and accounting, preferably previous experience as a Chief Accountant within the manufacturing industry;

Professional membership as a Chartered Accountant;

Ability to lead a team of professionals;

Fluent English and Slovak language is mandatory;

Good knowledge of Slovak GAAP and IFRS is expected;

Project management experience;

Experience with working in an international environment;

Proactive, independent, creative, team-player and hands-on approach.
