Sourcing Engineer

• Collaboration with the Head of the Costing Team Europe and with the Strategic buyers, for product classes of his competence.
• Support Sourcing with analysis on products and costs (should cost and total cost of the supply chain) in order to develop delivery strategies.
• Research and propose suppliers, technologies and alternatives which are economically, operationally and qualitatively interesting.
• Know the Supply Base and the used technologies to support the Sourcing in the selection of the most suitable suppliers depending on the nature of commodity materials.
• Provide technical support during the negotiations with suppliers.
• Support the Costing Team and the Sourcing in the elaboration of Business Case related to single materials.
• Analyze the Spend and arise cost reduction initiatives.
• Generate inputs and proposals for Strategic Buyers in case of inadequate suppliers or costs.
• Elaborate and cluster data (Group Technologies) in order to draw up proposals to improve supply strategies.
• Process and promote alternative sourcing strategies by taking into account to change the nature of demand, partnerships with suppliers or applying sourcing levers different from the existing ones.
• Monitor the performance of the suppliers’ market, raw materials and technologies and elaborate initiatives of value-engineering.
• Manage the implementation of actions of value-engineering in collaboration with suppliers, INDU and R&D.
• Collect, filter and implement the suggestions for improvement or change of products from suppliers.
• Define, implement and maintain the manufacturing footprint of the suppliers base.
• Collaboration with R&D, Product Manager and INDU to define and introduce new products.
• Work independently (keeping informed the strategic buyers of reference) and promote Benchmark initiatives concerning materials, technologies and supply base.
• Ensure alignment and implementation of purchasing strategies within the Purchasing organization for all product categories.
• Independent elaboration of complex Business Case (relating to entire product lines) and consequently discussion with the Costing for their approval.
• Process critically Make or Buy strategies on the products and realize Business Case to support the Costing.
• Analyze, develop and implement processes and tools to support the “Sourcing Europe”, in order to improve efficiency and horizontal collaboration (ex. Supply Base Footprint, Should cost tools, …).
• Make sure that the database on the Sourcing know-how is created and maintained over time
