Job description, responsibilities and duties
Purpose of the position
• Understand business process functional specifications.
• Provide Technical Leadership of Java/CE/Java WebDynPro/Portal/SAP UI5 development technologies.
• Provision of technical consultancy through design of solutions to Business Consulting teams.
• Co-ordination of development of SAP based ‘Cross Applications’ through offshore suppliers.
• Development/enhancement of applications as specified in the technical specification (which includes – design, development using (SAP Composition Environment Technologies - Java Web Dyn Pro/Adobe Forms, Web Service consumption, SAP Enterprise Services, SAP Enterprise Portal, UWL, Guided Procedures, JEE 5, SAP UI5 ), testing and deployment.
• Own Level 2/3 support for existing ‘Cross Applications’ (Java/CE/Java WebDynPro/Portal)
• ‘End-to-End’ application ‘solution’ ownership
• Working as an escalation point for the Level 2 support team for technical issues.
• Mentoring the junior team members and Level2 support team members.
Principal responsibilities
• Understand functional specification and review for assignment or technical specification.
• Provide architectural and strategic guidance for developing cross applications technology space.
• Technical Management and ownership of Project with Offshore suppliers and other Linde IS teams
• Prioritisation of projects and enhancements
• Technical Implementation of Project and enhancement activities based on the specification
• Technical peer review and governance.
• Understand application impacts from associated IT disciplines. e.g. DNS, Security, networks, firewalls, Netweaver, IIS/SAP, SAP, Oracle)
• Ensure services are delivered as per SLA’s
• Maintaining adherence to policies, guidelines and procedures of Global IS.
• Implement process improvements within Cross Applications.
• Identify opportunities for application improvement, and global consolidation facilitating HPO
• Ensure continued alignment with SAP Technology trends.

• Hands on development experience in SAP Netweaver/SAP CE/SAP Web DynPro/SAP Portal/UWL/SAP Enterprise Services, J2EE
• Good analytical skills and ability to work with customer oriented teams in a global environment
• Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle – Management of developments through cycle from Requirements/Design/Development/Test/Deploy
• Understanding of UML design principles
• Managing Cross Apps application Support(Service Delivery)
• Strong technical and non-technical communication skills both written and spoken
• Ability to be self motivated and be able to multi-task
• Ability for self-learning and to work in a meticulous and organized manner
• Exposure to working in a geographically dispersed environment
• Ability to work across multiple time zones
Required qualifications/experience
A degree or equivalent from a reputable institute
• A minimum of 6+ years experience in CE/Java WebDynPro/Portal Technologies
• Experience of working in an offshore delivery model

• SAP Certification in technical areas.
