Job description, responsibilities and duties
1. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Must be able to accept math models from customers and create engineering drawings of parts for use by quoting, engineering, prototyping and manufacturing. Develop in-house part drawings from customer math data.
• Make design changes to parts requested by program managers, process and quality engineers and customer engineering staff.
• Provide periodic product design engineering support as required.
• Support the continuous improvement process by providing cad design engineering support to make modifications to tooling and equipment.
• Participate in floor layout development process with process engineers. Develop new layouts as required.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as requested periodically.
• Full design responsible for customer product line
• Conduct design review meeting with Customer
• Preparing math data for data banking in customer system
2. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS AND MEASURABLES
• Error free preparation of new part drawings and changes to existing drawings.
• Control of math data and issue of paper prints to engineering files for use by program manager.
• On time implementation of assigned continuous improvement projects on the shop floor.
• Provide control of tooling prints to engineering and shop floor (maintenance).
• One to two years of related work experience as a computer aided designer with experience: Solid Edge, Unigraphics, Autocad, and Catia preferred but not required
• Knowledge of customer specific requirements (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA)
• Tooling design
• Welding fixtures design
• Assembly fixtures design
• Automotive Sector Experience is welcome.
