Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Director for Recruitment and Marketing is responsible for attracting and admitting highly qualified and motivated individuals from Slovakia and abroad to the Teach for Slovakia Fellowship. S/he will play an instrumental role in developing and refining the strategic plan for Recruitment and Marketing and lead local and international teams in meeting organizational goals. S/he will also be responsible for ensuring professional thought provoking marketing communication of Teach for Slovakia across all areas. As a member of the Board, s/he will be responsible for co-creating overall organization strategy and establishing high-performance organizational culture for the many years to come.

Major Responsibilities
• Set, define, and meet ambitious goals for recruitment that are aligned with overall organizational vision
• Build and lead national and international recruitment teams as well as campus based volunteers
• Communicate effectively with diverse audiences to deliver a compelling vision tailored to their motivations and interests
• Design and execute strategies to identify, cultivate and influence top students and graduates to apply to and join Teach for Slovakia
• Design and execute strategies to reach out to students and young leaders abroad and inspire them to return to Slovakia and join Teach for Slovakia
• Build trust-based relationships and engage top experts and/or agencies in PR, advertisement and online marketing in Slovakia and Teach For All network
• Build and maintain relationships with student leaders, administrators, inspiring speakers, faculty members, career service representatives, advisors, and other key gatekeepers to help execute an effective recruitment campaign
• Set up a system and monitor our awareness and attractiveness for top talents, if necessary organize focus groups and quantitative research
• Set and achieve ambitious matriculation goals for accepted applicants
• Manage applicant communications to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Design, implement and manage content of Teach for Slovakia online presence, in particular on web page and Facebook
• Design and manage production of all Teach for Slovakia marketing materials (e.g. video spots, leaflets, billboards)
• Attend Teach For All conferences to implement global innovations as well as share our knowledge to support our colleagues in other countries
• As a board member co-create organization’s overall strategy and contribute to achieving our strategic goals, particularly in the areas of building young leaders community, building a strong brand equity, and growing our revenues


Because we are a start‐up organization, every team member in our organization is expected to pitch in as needed outside of his/her responsibilities as well. This would include, for example, helping with the selection of fellows, organizing opening event, or other strategies essential to the success of our mission. As we are a member of the Teach For All network, all team members are also expected to share knowledge and best practices and to work effectively with the broader network.

• Is able to identify clearly the attributes of high potential candidates for the Teach For Slovakia fellowship, which will enable them to be effective leaders in the classroom and society
• Is able to build, inspire and lead a high-performing teams
• Is able to build and sustain strong relationships with a diverse pool of leaders and stakeholders
• Is able to develop and execute a complex campaign strategies efficiently and delivering defined campaign goals
• Is able to create and execute thought provoking and professional marketing communication, and cooperate and manage marketing experts and/or agencies
• Is able to engagingly present to small and large groups
• Is a strong written communicator who can clearly articulate our vision, goals and work, and address effectively the barriers and motivations of different individuals
• Is highly organized with proven management skills and experience creating efficient systems to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
• Has experience collecting, analyzing and using data to inform strategic and tactical decisions
• Is able to flexibly adjust strategy when unexpected obstacles emerge

Teach for Slovakia is a member of a global Teach For All network present in over 61 countries. The key initiative of our organization is a two-year full-time leadership program, for which we recruit top graduate talent from universities of various studies ranging from business, law, psychology to liberal arts among others. Program participants teach at our partner elementary schools across the country while receiving regular and intense training and mentoring. Our mission is to build a new generation of leaders who through this experience gain a deep understanding of the education system.
