Chief Accountant

The Chief Accountant is responsible for management of accounting and tax matters of 4 Lyreco entities operating in Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. The position includes management of 3-member team with proper allocation of tasks to achieve timely and accurate monthly closings.

The position requires sufficient accounting and VAT knowledge to assess proper accounting and VAT treatment in environment of 4 countries with cross border transactions.


Bratislava


• preparation of monthly closings in line with Group Accounting procedure manuals
• preparation and filing of Statutory accounts including liaison with Auditors
• preparation of monthly/quarterly group inter-company reconciliations and group reports in line with Group procedures and deadlines
• preparation of Corporate Income Tax returns and other Tax fillings in accordance with statutory requirements and liaison with Tax advisors
• preparation of VAT returns and Intrastat reporting
• preparation of Group Consolidation packs and dealings with Group Finance on all matters relating to our accounting procedures and systems
• responsibility for the Company’s Financial stock control and Accounting Margin controls, procedures and reporting
• coaching and development of direct reports
• assessment of complex transactions with suggestion of proper accounting and tax treatment
• preparation and validation of payment proposals
• advisory and support to other departments with regards to accounting and tax matters (i.e. customer service with customer invoicing; logistics with product invoice processing; marketing with proper product VAT rate set ups etc...).

• Proven knowledge of VAT and accounting principles
• Experience in leading accounting department at the minimum of 3 years
• Excellent management and leadership ability
• English language both speaking and writing is a must
• Hungarian or German language is a great advantage
• Experience in SAP is a great advantage
• Advanced level of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook...)
• Great attention to detail, high sense of responsibility and independent performance
