Job description, responsibilities and duties

* Reporting to the General Manager, and with a dotted line into the Head of Accounting Services in the UK:
* Month end closing in the ERP system
* Loading of financial data into the reporting software for submission to Group Finance in the UK
* Preparing monthly reporting, including commentary and variance analysis, to Components divisional Finance in the UK
* Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, preparation of reconciliations file, and sending of financial controls checklist to
* Group Finance
* Responsibility for P&Ls and balance sheets, in Slovakia
* Accounting for transactions in the Slovak warehouse, which is the central hub for Components in Eastern Europe
* Enforcing a high standard of internal control, including compliance with the Accounting Policies Manual
* Liaison with internal auditors and with external advisers
* Identify and drive improvements in accounting systems and processes
* Control costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction
* Responsibility for customer credit control, working capital management, tax compliance and treasury management
* Provide General Manager with accurate and relevant financial information
* Deal with ad hoc requests for financial information from colleagues in the UK
* Manage team of 1

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

Microsoft Excel - Advanced

Personality requirements and skills

* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a lead accounting person in a manufacturing business or a business distributing
* manufactured products
* Excellent English language skills, written and verbal
* Self starter and ability to prepare all accounts in accordance with requirements
* Knowledge of Slovak Accounting Standards is a must, IFRS - advance
* An effective, dependable team member who can work unsupervised and be proactive in a challenging high volume
* environment
* Flexible to respond to changing priorities and issues, able to multi-task, work on multiple concurrent projects
* Culturally aware, with excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels with the company
* Proven ability to manage and motivate staff
* Highly proficient with Microsoft Office software
* Previous experience and detailed knowledge of ERP systems
* User of the systems called BPCS and COGNOS. Previous experience of these specific systems is not essential, but will be
* looked upon favourably
* Positive “can do” attitude, with enthusiasm to “make a difference”
* Hands on, detail orientated approach
