Job description, responsibilities and duties

* US Company is setting up new Branch in Bratislava! Take your chance and become a member of newly built team!
* Develop cost savings improvement strategies in line with customers' objectives and corporate business plan objectives.
* Create and maintain commodity strategies and provide guidance to buyers and other team members regarding the commodity strategies as necessary.
* Identify ongoing opportunities for better pricing, trading terms and operating process and systems.
* Use supplier performance data in managing continuous improvement from the supply base to meet or exceed customer requirements.
* Lead supplier selection and negotiations.
* Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets.
* Review internal performance metrics, identify corrective actions and work with buyers to insure internal timing expectations are met.
* Mentor and train buyers and other team members as needed.
* Perform other duties as required by purchasing manager.

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) or German - Upper intermediate (B2) or Spanish - Upper intermediate (B2)

Microsoft Word - Advanced
Microsoft Excel - Advanced
Microsoft PowerPoint - Advanced

Personality requirements and skills

* Experiences with similar purchasing position – at least 3 years.
* Substantial knowledge of purchasing practices and standard purchasing systems.
* Ability to perform cost analysis for assigned responsibilities.
* Capable of conducting successful price and term negotiations with suppliers.
* Demonstrate strong skills in project management, verbal and written communications, problem-solving, time management and meeting strict deadlines.
* Proficient in speaking English and German or Spanish. Also, Slovak a plus.
* Proficient with personal and laptop computers and standard office software.
