Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
* Analysing supplied products costs (cost breakdown) and encouraging the search of new cost saving ideas : internally and from suppliers with the support of R&D, Logistics, Engineering, Manufacturing specialists
* Organising regular meetings with suppliers (Material Steering Committee): building up the agenda for suppliers’ presentation to Material Steering Commitee and encouraging suppliers to suggest productivity ideas (logistics, material, technology , other engineering changes)
* Following up every product cost saving idea from validation to the final implementation
* Organizing Material Steering Committee review with the following agenda : presentation of MSC KPI (nr. of ideas, savings etc.), propositions for better efficiency, review of specific projects, e.t.c.
* Planning of material costs and active management of suppliers in the early stages of the product development process
* Co-operation with commodity, project, operational buyers to support competetive sourcing and suppliers continuous improvement strategy
