German Community Lead

who are we looking for

Language & Communication
Excellent German and English language skills are an absolute requirement. Written skills are of primary importance, but verbal skills are also important.

Social Media
The ideal candidate is familiar with social media and has practical experience in online communities, and has blogged or participated extensively in other social networks like Twitter, Facebook, or other. Prior administrative experience is optimal – setting up online groups, or setting up a self hosted blog, or acting as an admin or moderator in any online community.

Personal
The candidate should be confident, enthusiastic, and be able to easily relate to, and inspire and influence others - lead by positive example. Provide examples team building experience through volunteer programs, coaching sports, or local community events and charities could be helpful. Prior online community building experience is helpful. Have an eye for identifying talent in others.

Customer facing skills are highly valued – prior experience in a customer service industry, whether as a contact center agent, retail store employee, Restaurant – waiter, manager, etc. Candidate has the ability to be diplomatic when the situation requires it and can effectively diffuse and resolve conflicts.

PC & Technical Skills
A strong technical background in computer hardware, operating systems, and applications is important. Prior PC repair tech experience, or programming, or support / help desk operation would be valued.

HTML and other script language skills, graphic design, or any professional writing / journalism skills would also be a strong plus.

German Language – 4 (Secondary Portuguese is a plus)
English - 3
Experience with Social Media Blogs / Forums – 3 or better
Experience with general PC operation & common application software – 3 or better
Experience with Windows or Linux, or Office / Web Browser / email – 3 or better
General business knowledge – 3 (prior corporate experience a plus)

what will you do

The Community Leader will be responsible for the overall growth, operation, and content of the forums, community knowledge base, and social monitoring, analytics, and engagement for German language.

Primary responsibilities include:


• Administrator role for German forums – technical manipulation of this section of the community including configuration of boards, system permissions, announcements, and primary point of Lenovo communications. Some translation of community documentation.

• Cultivation of super users and volunteer moderation team from within this section of the community – requires team building, motivation, and process & policy leadership. Lead the community in problem solving, escalate issues and team with peers who lead other languages.

• Manage Community Knowledge bases in German section of the community – administrative / configuration, article publication reviews, and some article authorship. Team building to encourage use and content contribution by the community.

• Customer Satisfaction / Service – selectively engage within the community to diffuse complaints, facilitate resolution through escalation. Response to larger discussions – providing Lenovo response & updates – manage to resolution.

• Identification / escalation / co-ordination / communication for top pervasive technical issues in community.

• Analytics & reporting – Reporting & analytics for community & German social media ecosphere – Top discussion topics, conversation tone / sentiment – identify & communicate key issues, and selectively engage outside community to create positive influence.
