Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

» Manage the sales, production, quality, supply chain and finance departments in a positive manner and with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, ownership,
» Ensure that the company maintains a financially sound position in line with group targets,
» Select skilled and motivated people interested in a long term employment. Lead by example and by performing tasks personally, with personal engagement and deep involvement,
» Develop a team with strong cohesion by maintaining a high level of motivation; ensure that all managers have development objectives and train their people,
» Set clear personal and business objectives for the management that are achievable and measurable; support the management to set similar objectives to their subordinates,
» Be the first sales man of the company. Maintain strong contact to main customers. Define new customer targets. Look for new market opportunities in the region (CEE/SEE),
» Define target customers in order to increase sales for the existing product portfolio of the Group,
» Support the sales team in selling, price setting and logistical matters. Enhance product and market knowledge of the sales team by training and giving example,
» Communicate for regional or global key accounts with other subsidiaries and the key account coordinators,
» Ensure that sales budget with margins provide a proper profit but is also in line with directives for group key accounts or for market segments. The sales budget must ensure that the Company maintains and enhances its market position in target markets defined for company group,
» Ensure continuous improvement of quality and productivity by definition of corrective actions and close monitoring of realization of improvements,
» Fulfil manufacturing objectives to ensure high productivity and superior product quality. Manage KPIs for reduction of wastage and increase of productivity by setting clear measurable targets.

The company is organized decentrally: While the holding in Germany provides different group services and guidelines, the operating sales & manufacturing units in the countries operate with a high level of independence and entrepreneurial spirit. In charge of our prestigious customer we are looking for a General Manager Business Development & Manufacturing Operations Hungary.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) and Hungarian - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

» Bachelors or Master’s degree preferably in Engineering or Economics,
» 15+ years of experience in business development within an industrial environment or products,
» Professional experience in a B2B business with technically challenging, wide product programs,
» Excellent knowledge of English and Hungarian language,
» Excellent leadership exposure with a solid and effective people management practice,
» Pragmatic and efficient decision maker with a down to earth mentality,
» Assertive communication skills linked to active listening and partnering skills.
