KGS Diamond Group is specialized in the production of flexible diamond abrasives and electrolytically metallised fabrics. Founded in Switzerland in 1952, KGS has 14 sales and distribution offices in Europe, North America, Middle East, China and Australia as well as four manufacturing sites located in Switzerland, The Netherlands, Hungary and Portugal. The International Sales Office of KGS is based in Elburg, Netherlands. Through our business units Stone, Precision, Floor and Fabrics, we approach - directly or through industrial & specialized distribution - a variety of markets and applications worldwide.

Precision Grinding & Finishing

To grow our presence in specific regions we will extend the PRECISION team with a SALES & APPLICATION ENGINEER, responsible for managing the KGS Precision Business in Northern Germany, Scandinavia, Baltic Area, Eastern Europe, Russia and in the near future Great-Britain also. Flexible diamond tools are used when materials cannot be machined with conventional abrasives and provides often a more economical solution (much higher productivity) for certain applications and are a perfect extension to the coated abrasive range. Our precision customers can be found in the glass, porcelain, technical ceramics and metalworking industry, like aerospace, automotive, roll-grinding, paper, pulp and printing. Within these industries, various of applications that utilize abrasive products – for example - to grind hard metals, grind and polish hard coatings (eg HVOF), glass edging.

Job Profile

After an intensive introduction period and on-the-job training you will be responsible for maintaining and growing your current customer base and develop new prospects in your region. Considering the geographical scope of your region, a strong network of partners should be developed and managed within the main markets of your region. This will be the basis of the sales- & marketing plan which will be prepared together with the sales director, to whom you will report. You develop partnerships with OEMS and industrial distributors and abrasive specialists companies. Manage on-site business visits in our new KGS Tech Centre by providing training courses to your customers and internal staff. Also you will develop business cases for new or customized products and give input to new product development. You will be working together with a team of technical and marketing specialists.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate for this challenging role is able to demonstrate an extensive and successful commercial footprint in an international B2B sales of conventional abrasives. Knowledge of flexible diamond products, applications and markets has a preference. You have a middle to higher technical degree with good communication/commercial ability. Through your education and working past you have gained a broad experience level in engineered applications of abrasives. You have an excellent feeling for balancing commercial interests and customers requirements for engineered solutions. Overall you are driven by commercial results supported by good technical skills.

Your input and feedback will attribute to develop strategies by market segment and new marketing supporting tools. Our products are sold through various distribution channels, these include but are not limited to industries that utilize our products for aerospace, automotive, glass, ceramics, technical ceramics, hard metals, hard coatings (eg HVOF). You are familiar with these industries and distribution channels and have a proven track record of sales within these type of businesses. You are ambitious, enjoy travelling and meeting new people with different cultures.

Skills

Excellent verbal, written, presentation and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) are required. The region covers various countries and cultures, next to your country language, you are fluent in English and German, both verbally and in writing. You must have the ability to be self-directed and motivated and work in an international environment. Good process analytical and improvement skills and mechanical aptitude are desirable, in combination with your commercial talents. Although you are used to work independently, - from your home office - you regularly touch base with and be present at the international sales office in Elburg.
