We are hiring an Indirect Buyer into our Procurement Team in our Bratislava Business Center!
 
Indirect Buyer
 
The Indirect Buyer is responsible for Indirect Procurement in the EMEA region and ensures its competitiveness across all Johnson Controls business units.
 
In order to succeed in the role, the Indirect Buyer has to understand the requirements of internal customers, support source definition, benchmarking, negotiations, execution of consolidated purchase agreements and support partnership building with key suppliers. To ensure that purchasing processes and outcomes exceed internal customer’s expectations, the Indirect Buyer will fully participate and contribute to the Global Indirect procurement operations as well as to Indirect purchasing operations of all business units.
 
The Indirect Buyer ensures that internal customer’s requests are understood, gives visibility to the purchase plan, and is in continuous alignment with Global Indirect Procurement leadership directions.
 
Primary Duties:
 

* Execute Global Indirect Purchasing Strategy within area of responsibility.
* Organize and share information regarding internal customer’s requirements to ensure that business units “indirect” procurement teams are aligned with Global Indirect Procurement Strategy.
* Work directly with internal customers within EMEA and interact at all levels within the organization to understand requirements, align with Global and Regional Procurement strategies and perform efficiently all purchasing activities.
* Interact with indirect (Energy, MRO/Temporary Labor) leaders to optimize EMEA indirect supply conditions.
* Responsible to execute Purchasing functions in compliance with global and national/regional initiatives. Ensure that agreements are prepared including all needed organizations to ensure proper legal and commercial chapters.
* Prepare and execute indirect contract negotiations in EMEA region in alignment with single facility needs.
* Drive the quotation processes, define evaluation criteria, identify and select suppliers, execute the evaluation process, refine and validate sourcing and purchasing options, manage buy-in of business unit leaders.
* Execute the awarding procedures, such as requisitions and Purchasing Orders.
* Responsible to build sound relationships with suppliers and partners (internal and external).
* Manage contract information to ensure that portfolio has consistent information and renewals or termination due date are under control.
* Conduct benchmarking and overall market assessment to support the development of the procurement strategy, aligned with customer’s requirements and in compliance with global and regional indirect procurement strategies.
* Continually look for ways to exceed customer’s expectations, increase efficiency implement better processes and achieve cost savings globally.
* Contribute actively to the Global Indirect Purchasing Team to implement national and international standard procurement processes, procedures, policies and tools.

Qualifications of the successful candidate:

* Bachelor level degree in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering or Engineering, or directly applicable work experience, MBA desired.
* Minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant indirect procurement work experience in a major international corporation
* Previous experience in one or more areas of Energy, MRO or Temporary Labor will be an advantage
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken, another European language, i.e. German, will be an asset.
* High level of persuasiveness and assertiveness.
* Proven quality focus in providing internal customer solutions.
* Demonstrated ability to evolve efficiently to complete purchasing activities.
* Experience in developing internal and external relationships and partnerships with selected suppliers.
* Strong communication and presentation skills and a proven ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
* Team player and able to work well in a global team environment.
