Manager Indirect Tax Compliance & Reporting

The successful candidate will be part of the EMEA Corporate Indirect Tax team which is responsible for all indirect tax matters in the EMEA region. 

The overall purpose of this role is to manage the VAT framework, coordinate the Indirect Tax aspects of business projects in the EMEA region and to play a crucial role in the implementation and coordination of Indirect Tax processes and procedures in close cooperation with the central VAT Compliance team(s) for the EMEA region.

• Manage the VAT framework for EMEA which defines the processes and roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders for Indirect Tax.
• Lead and/or coordinate VAT related ERP projects and support other indirect tax related projects across the EMEA region.
• Assist in maintaining a proper VAT logic and coding in the ERP systems across the EMEA region.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and implementation of indirect tax processes.
• Coordinate and support the development and the maintenance of internal controls/policies to minimize VAT exposure and maximize VAT opportunities.
• Analyze, adapt and implement VAT relevant legislation changes in operative end-to-end processes, be at the source of information, initiate next steps and possible new strategies for the EMEA region.
• Provide targeted, relevant training to Business, Shared Service and Tax Function employees.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of Indirect Taxes in EMEA.

• Bachelor’s or Master's Degree.

• Team player with a positive “can do” attitude.

• Use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions for challenges and obstacles.

• Expert knowledge of VAT, ideally across a number of European countries.

• Practical advanced experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and related procedures.

• High level of communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational and planning skills.

• Excellent oral and written English language skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
