Leader Indirect Tax

The Leader Indirect Tax will be managing the VAT Compliance team (approx. 5-8 members). The VAT Compliance team is in charge of all VAT compliance issues in the region for local and foreign Johnson Controls entities.
 
Your main responsibilities as Leader Indirect Tax will be to review and lead the work that is prepared by the Compliance Team including, but not limited to:
* Preparation of monthly / quarterly / yearly VAT returns for local and foreign companies

* Reconciliation of VAT accounts and respective documentation for SOX purposes

* Preparation of monthly statistical (i.e. Intrastat) reporting for local and foreign companies

You will lead and support domestic VAT audits in cooperation with local Tax Managers and be the contact person for tax authorities. You will also be involved in the implementation of global compliance structures and keep your team up to date with the VAT legislation. If needed, you will provide VAT support to customers within and outside the business.

Required qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Economy or equivalent education and experience
* 6+ years of relevant tax/ accounting experience
* 2-4 years of VAT experience, preferably in a Compliance function
* Fluent English skills are required

 
Preferred skills and qualifications:
* Experience with ERP-Systems SAP and/or Oracle a plus
* Spanish/Italian skills are an advantage
* Computer competency in a client-server environment using a wide range of application software
