Manager Tax

As we are currently building up our EMEA Central Tax Compliance Team in Bratislava, we are looking for a Manager Tax to lead the team and be responsible for for the execution of the CIT compliance agenda. This includes calculations of income and deferred taxes under local (national) tax rules and other centralized tax related activities on EMEA level.
 
Besides recurring CIT compliance tasks, the Tax Manager is responsible for ongoing efforts to standardize and improve tax compliance processes, involving close cooperation with various Johnson Controls’ business units across EMEA and interacting with a wide range of Johnson Controls professionals with different business roles.
 
You coordinate and manage the review of corporate income and deferred tax calculations and returns in accordance with legal requirements of the respective countries within the EMEA region. You drive, support, standardize and optimize the CIT compliance processes handled by the EMEA Central Tax Compliance team, pro-actively identify weaknesses in tax compliance processes and propose solutions.
 
You are the main point of contact for all centralized activities within the EMEA Central Tax Compliance Team and coordinate and manage all activities falling under its responsibility.
You advise on miscellaneous tax compliance reporting issues and lead on ad-hoc tax compliance projects if required.
 
You lead and supervise a team of Tax Specialists and assure a stable organizational capacity of the entire team. You continuously develop the international tax expertise of yourself and your team.
 
As a Manager Tax, you are able to set goals in consistency with company objectives and can effectively cope with change. You can manage multiple priorities simultaneously because of your excellent planning, organization and time management skills. You present and communicate effectively to various stakeholders on different levels of hierarchy and are able to successfully lead negotiations. You feel comfortable to collaborate with people from different countries and cultural backgrounds and are able to quickly build up and maintain strong relationships with your customers. You recognize their expectations and respond to them with the right sense of urgency.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's/ Master’s Degree in Finance or Tax
* 6+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally in one of the Big4 firms
* Experience with international GAAP (IFRS / US GAAP) concepts
* Fluent business English
* Work experience in a multinational environment
* Precision, mobility, flexibility and deadline focus

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
* Any other European language(s) is/ are a plus

* ERP systems knowledge (including SAP and Oracle) is an advantage
