Business Analyst - Global IT Applications

The Business Analyst - Global IT Applications is an entry level role and works directly with the Program Manager to define the set-up of the deployment of an IT application within Johnson Controls. This role works on a global team that is in charge of service delivery for Global IT Applications for Best Business Practice and Continuous Business Improvement.
 
Your primary responsibility as a Business Analyst will be to configure and specify an external Employee Idea System application to Johnson Controls’ requirements and support internal customers globally and the Program Manager on all system-related issues.
 
You coordinate launch schedules with project managers and tech leads to minimize impact to end users and own and manage the load of system data and site setup for the new deployment. You perform Business Process testing on enhancements and new projects and document test plans and test cases in standard testing tools (currently Quality Center).  You also maintain work instructions for new and existing Best Business Practice support processes and monitor the Help Desk tools (i.e. Remedy) for end user support.
 
You understand the Best Business Practice applications, metadata and platform architecture and take initiative to identify, investigate and recommend improvements to the applications as well as systems or operational processes.
 
As a Business Analyst you are able to work collaboratively with your team members as well as internal service providers to ensure that customers receive timely service at high quality. You can manage multiple task assignments simultaneously because of your excellent planning and organization skills. You communicate effectively to various stakeholders in different locations globally and with both technical and non-technical background.

Required Skills & Qualifications
* University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Strong Excel, XML and Visual basic skills
* Knowledge of SQL/ Oracle database
* Programming and/or data conversion experience (i.e. Visual Basic, Python/PHP)
* Fluent in English

Preferred Experience Qualifications
* 1 – 3 years of experience in a Business or Support Analyst role  
* Experience in working in a global team environment and working effectively with multi- disciplinary teams across cultures, regions and geographies

Preferred Skill Qualifications
* Sound knowledge of business intelligence or data warehouse solutions and quality assurance testing and tools, i.e. Quality Center
* Experience in Windows server 2008 administration and Apache 4 – advanced (mod_jk plugin knowledge is an advantage)
* Siteminder, Java 7, Apache Tomcat
