Tax Specialist

Primary Purpose:
 
* To become a member of EMEA Central Tax Compliance team responsible for CIT compliance agenda including calculations of income and deferred taxes under local (national) tax rules and other centralized tax related activities on EMEA level. Besides recurring CIT compliance tasks, Central Tax Compliance team is responsible for ongoing effort to standardize and improve tax compliance processes, involving close cooperation with various Johnson Controls’ business units across EMEA, interacting with a wide range of JC professionals with different business roles.

 
 
Primary Duties:
 
* Preparation of corporate income tax returns for Johnson Controls entities within EMEA region
* Gathering of relevant financial information and preparation of corporate income and deferred tax calculations in accordance with legal requirements of respective countries
* Support, standardize and optimize CIT compliance processes across EMEA region
* Advise on miscellaneous tax compliance reporting issues
* Pro-actively identify weaknesses in tax compliance processes and propose solutions
* Assist on miscellaneous ad-hoc tax compliance projects as required
* Develop international tax experience
* Perform other activities falling under the responsibility of EMEA Central Tax Compliance team

* One to three years of  tax and/or accounting/bookkeeping experience is a must
* Fluent business English with experience of working in multinational environment
* Knowledge of another foreign European language is an advantage
* ERP systems knowledge (including SAP and Oracle) is an advantage
* Bachelor's/ Master’s Degree in Finance or Tax
* Able to prioritize work load in order to meet deadlines and business requirements
* Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, presentation and planning skills.
* Strong ability  to cooperate with people from different countries and cultural backgrounds
* Strong ability to express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people & to lead negotiations
