Senior Buyer Indirect (Travel &Credit cards)

Objective of function

* Impact/Project Scope - Develops and implements newprocesses and procedures for programs and projects affecting an entire division

* Sphere of Influence - Works in a matrix mgmt wherehe/she influences at the divisional level working with senior level managementand suppliers.  May be called upon tosolve non -routine problems, may consult on other projects.  Participates in division wide teamingefforts. 

* Supplier Management - Manages interpersonalrelationships with supplier staff - uses program measurements and reporting togain improvements

* Provide cost savings on specific commodities – air,car, hotel, TMC as applicable (via Savings Tracker and/or CI tools)

* Manage preferred TMC relationship ensuring SLA aremaintained

* Review of new products and tools offered byagencies; Implementations of such tools as deemed appropriate in alignment withDirector and global applicability

* Alignment with key internal stakeholders (VIPAdmins, BU Directors, etc.) to ensure quality service

* Managementof the delivery of services for our global travel agencies, airlines, carrentals and hotels (regional or  globalas designated)

* Negotiations with travel and credit cards suppliers(interact with Treasury) as applicable(ex. TMC, Car rental, Taxi & Hotels)– to deliver savings & service improvements

* Negotiate with credit card companies in compliancewith internal requirements (interact with Treasury)

* Consolidation/reduction of vendors and spend thatadhere to company policy

* Support implementations of credit card programs inorder to increase visibility of spend and to reduce invoicing

* Monitorand increase usage of JCI preferred supplier programs through communication andtraining

* Collaborate and influence:

* Finance : to standardize invoicing from Travelsuppliers & implement E-invoicing (EMEA, APACJ,

* Purchasing : to set up corporate suppliers invendor systems

* Security : to support implementation of Travelagencies to ISOS

* HR – to train JCI employees on Travel policy &booking procedures

* Consolidation and coordination of Travel Agencynetwork: implementation of JCI new Markets to preferred Travel ManagementCompany

* Integration of acquisitions (communication, datagathering, work with former suppliers, set up DK, MOP, profiles) Alignment with3rd party suppliers

* Manageadditional ad hoc responsibilities/projects as they occur
* Technical Skills - Ability to use business systemseffectively.  Working knowledge ofMicrosoft Office tools, SAP, SRM. Ability to perform routine dataanalysis.  Ability to perform processflow analysis

* Minimum 3-5 Years of Progressive PurchasingExperience or Equivalent Business Experience; Bachelor’s Degree Business in Preferred or Equivalent BusinessExperience

* Communication Skills - Able to communicateeffectively in a variety of situations ranging from one-on-one sessions tolarger team meetings across some levels of supplier and JCI organizations

* Decision Making - Able to make routine decisionsindependently and present action plans for non-routine problem situations

* Business Acumen - Able to develop relationships andnegotiate agreements in support of strategies and objectives

* Continuous program improvement; identifying areasof opportunities

* Worked in an international environment withexposure to different cultures

* Result orientated working – ability to set goalswith company objectives

* Analytical skills to solve daily issues and makesmart decisions 

* Independent negotiator

* Fluent English
