Within this function the STA/Purchasing Programme team manages the interface between the Vehicle Line Programmes and the Purchasing & STA community to ensure New Model Programmes can derive maximum value from supplier planning and launch readiness activities, and ensure that commodity delivery is achieved at or better than plan.

This is a key role in delivering the new vehicle whole lifecycle plan and offers a unique and challenging experience with business-wide exposure and development.

As a Manager in STA/Purchasing Programmes you will be the key programmes interface for STA during the delivery & launch phases of the programme. You will represent STA within the Vehicle Programme Team.

You will be expected to act as a leader and the focal point for Programme status & delivery, and for identifying and leading cross functional resolution to maximise outcomes for JLR. You will also be jointly responsible for ongoing strategic development of the STA/Purchasing Programmes function to ensure that we can continue to meet the needs of internal customers within the Vehicle lines and STA CoCs whilst the business continues to grow and develop.

Main responsibilities:
  • Drive Governance of the process with Suppliers, Module Business Teams and -
Programme Senior Management
  • Leadership of a team of engineers with responsibility for all STA programme activity
  • Leadership of supply base readiness for launch, including cross functional influence and engagement to drive process adherence and robustness
  • Jointly responsible for ongoing strategic development of the STA/Purchasing Programmes function
  • Provide direction to drive customer satisfaction, improve manufacturing quality and reduce/resolve supplier risks
  • Manage supplier performance through robust application of agreed customer (JLR) and supplier metric monitoring, reporting and action planning
  • Lead communication of supplier performance information to the appropriate STA Senior Leadership and STA Site teams, Senior Programme Leadership, PE Launch leaders and engineers.
  • Manage and report the programme status of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities within the supply base
  • Manage and report the PSW status of the programme
  • Manage, report and risk assess the PSW status of the programme to provide a health check to the Programme and Purchasing Leadership

Požiadavky

  • Experience within an engineering \ quality \ manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of programme management tools and skills
  • Strong history of cross functional influencing at all levels in the organisation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of managing complex programmes
  • Experience of leading, motivating and developing teams
  • Self motivated and able to operate independently
  • Full driving license with no restrictions to driving in Europe \ UK
  • Strong business knowledge of English language required
  • Knowledge of automotive programme management (e.g. APQP)
  • Knowledge of automotive part approval processes (e.g. PPAP)
  • Experience of establishing new teams, recruiting and training to operational effectiveness
  • Qualified to degree level in an engineering or business discipline
  • Programme management qualification (e.g. Prince)
