Senior Buyer – Construction

• Provide strategic procurement leadership to ensure the continued development of the JLR central European manufacturing facility in Slovakia.
• Manage numerous Stakeholders based both in Slovakia and in the UK and overseas to determine best fit procurement route per project
• Support the leader of a varied Stakeholder group in developing strategic activities which form Strategic Category Plans (SCPs)
• Develop and lead multiple contract negotiations to support delivery of major construction projects
• Develop the optimal supply base consistent with the SCP content
• Manage supplier relationships and supplier performance
• Deliver annual value added savings
• Engage closely with key stakeholders to maximise Purchasing influence and ensure alignment with Purchasing processes and policy

• Strong buying and negotiating expertise
• Strong sense of ‘business acumen’ and analytical skills
• Experience in supplier management
• Strong leadership and influencing skills
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience
• An excellent negotiator with a proven track record of successful commercial negotiations
• Project management skills with ability to manage and execute complex projects on time and in budget
• Professionally qualified with a proven track record in a purchasing or other commercial negotiating environment
• Broad Purchasing experience essential, a background in construction procurement and experience of managing large scale complex construction projects would be an advantage
• Experience of managing multi-national suppliers delivering projects outside of the UK
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers/customers
• Ability to be highly organised with continual focus on attention to detail
• Experience of dealing with global companies with high value revenue is desired
• A commercial understanding of terms and conditions and ability to negotiate them (with the support of OGC)
• Driving licence and passport required
