Production Control Analyst

Production Control analyst is responsible for the controls the processing of customer orders through Body Shop, Paint Shop and Trim & Final.
Function is to provide the manufacturing production lines with a mix of orders which satisfied build constraints. The department is also responsible for setting and reporting against production targets.

Main Responsibilities:

• Release and monitor orders to the shop for manufacturing. Monitor flow of bodies through Body in White and Paint to ensure optimum system fill through the process. To ensure the right body is available for sequence and the target is maintained.
• Responsible for the immediate detailed planning of the flow of orders through manufacturing, carrying out the plan, and controlling the work as it progresses to completion.
• Control the launch of special build vehicles according to the build plans. Control model year changes to ensure all orders are built with no obsolete body stocks.
• Take control of orders and make sure they are completed on time.
• Track the actual performance of work orders and compare it to planned schedules.
• Work closely with BIW and paint manufacturing to understand / anticipate any issues with the build plan.
• Understand and communicate any facility or manufacturing quality issues. - Develop and support plans to prevent or reduce the impact of any issues on Trim and Final volumes.
• Monitor and control work-in- process, lead times, and breakdowns.
• Help with any queries or issues where possible. Drive build on day. Seek and champion opportunities to improve.
• Support system changes / enhancements and work to improve all aspects of the departments operations.
• Support ongoing order to delivery improvement initiatives and plan and implement agreed changes.
• Provide current production status and short term visibility of issues to senior management as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience :

• Min. 3 years of experience in Production Control in Automotive OEM
• Good knowledge of manufacturing and logistics processes.
• Advanced knowledge of OEM Plant processes and standards in Production Control.
• Ideally experienced in using, Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
• General knowledge of vehicle manufacturing, manufacturing engineering and industry standards.
• Good knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Lean Logistics.
• To demonstrate strong numerical, analytical skills and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and with cross functional team. The ability to work in a fast paced environment and to strict deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, applying common processes and standards. Good time management skills with the ability to set goals / priorities are required.
• Data driven and able to interpret interrogate and analyse data for problem resolution.
• To make correct decisions quickly, sometimes in demanding situations.
• Must be systems literate and demonstrate analytical skills including knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel. Experience in Excel including data manipulation and presentation.
• Attention to detail essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills. To have effective communication skills, be able to work as part of a small team and also develop cross-functional contacts.
• Demonstrate high levels of motivation and resourcefulness, able to drive processes and deliverables directly from Policy Deployment.
