Manpower Planning is an essential part of the MBO (Manufacturing Business Office Director) and are responsible for identifying all manpower requirements across JLR vehicle assembly plants and providing detailed hourly and salaried headcount analysis which is used to identify and support current budget and future plans. As JLR’s Global Manufacturing Footprint expands there is a requirement to provide this function for our new plant in Nitra, Slovakia. As well as headcount planning, the department is also responsible for the identification of Basic Minute Value (BMV) and Hours Per Car (HPC) targets for all new model programmes, status reporting of HPC on all models up to Job 1 and Industrial Engineering support up to Job 1. Manpower Planning are also responsible for JLR’s input to the Harbour report and carry out all the analysis required so that data provided by the report can be used in its most effective manner

The successful candidate will lead the Manpower Planning Department in Nitra, Slovakia which will consist of around 8 people covering Manpower Planning, BMV & HPC Target setting and status reporting and Industrial Engineering support. The role will involve close cross functional working with Nitra Manufacturing Operations, HR and Finance to achieve and track the manning requirements for Nitra Vehicle Operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Working cross functionally with key stakeholders e.g. Manufacturing Operations, Finance, and HR to deliver suitable Manpower Plans which align to Nitra’s LEAP targets and provide a current status against these plans.
  • Generation of annual Business Plan and Harbour report input, annual budget and monthly forecast data for headcount, BMV and HPC.
  • Manning variance reports and analysis on headcount, BMV and HPC.
  • New Model and Architecture Board support (HPC, manning etc. current car and through business plan period)’
  • Monthly reporting of plant headcount KPI’s e.g. AOR’s, ROR’s etc. within standard formats to be reviewed with Plant Operations and HR Directors.
  • Management of movement plans between areas of the plant, agreement of hiring plans etc.
  • Analysis of published strategies, raising awareness of any potential business impacts and providing recommendations supported by detailed analysis
  • Lead shop floor allocation planning for the introduction of New Models up to Job 1 + 90 in line with vehicle / process development and latest operating strategies

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of financial budgeting and management processes.
