The VCATS team are part of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering department and support the, Electrical Testing of Vehicles and the Validation of feature performance. The VCATS process downloads software to electronic modules on the vehicle and Configures them to the correct vehicle specification, making the car functional and ensuring it complies with market legislation. The team of VCATS engineers at each site takes responsibility for the provision of a whole-life test system from the start of a vehicle programme, through early build stages and on to volume production.
Main responsibilities:
• Overseeing the team of onsite VCATS Engineers
• Ensure that VCATS requirements are met at the earliest stages of New Model Programmes
• Planning for the introduction of new models, and ensuring that the team offers full support during Virtual Builds and early Physical Builds of New Models and MY changes.
• Develop and Manage VCATS deliverables so that they are compliant with programme milestones.
• Represent VCATS to present programme status at Launch Management Meetings and Senior Level Reviews.
• Ensure the team provide support to the Manufacturing Team for the prompt resolution of vehicle test issues.
• Ensure the team work closely with Manufacturing to ensure processes are optimised in terms of overall cycle time and smooth operator work patterns.
• Support Plant Electrical initiatives
• Managing the introduction of new part numbers (hardware and software) resulting from engineering change and model year actions.

• Create and lead VCATS Cross Car Line activities, ensuring maximum VCATS cross plant commonality

• Educated to Degree level in relevant discipline. DESIRABLE
• Experience of Integrated Vehicle Electrical Test Systems and strategies. DESIRABLE

• Proven Team Leader able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. ESSENTIAL
