Job description, responsibilities and duties

The International Investment Bank (the IIB) announces a job opening – SENIOR BANKER AT LENDING & INVESTMENT UNIT AT THE IIB EUROPEAN REGIONAL OFFICE IN BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA

Key responsibilities:
• Search for new partners and customers in the coverage area with focus on mid and long term investment facilities, integration and development projects;
• Expansion of the network and negotiations with the customers regarding deals structure, terms & conditions of the transactions;
• Maintenance and development of relationship with existing customers and partners;
• Preliminary assessment of the financial standing of the potential borrowers and feasibility of the projects;
• Preparation of the term-sheets for the clients and their coordination with the respective Bank divisions;
• Origination and participation in the club deals and syndicated facilities arranged by global banks and development institutions;
• Gathering information and participation in the preparation of the credit applications;
• KYC procedures fulfillment;
• Participation in the presentation of the deals to the Credit Committee (if required);
• Communication and cooperation with all the internal Bank divisions involved in the credit process;
• Constant monitoring of the quality of the credit portfolio (regular meetings with the customers, collection and review of financial statements, analysis of the information in the open sources, control over the fulfilment of conditions precedent and conditions subsequent, payment discipline etc.)
• Representation of the Bank at various public events (conferences, seminars etc.);
• Constant monitoring of the Bank’s member states markets ;

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

Education:
• University degree in finance/economics.

Work experience:
• Working experience in the related function at least three years;
• Experience in search and attraction of customers / experience in selling of banking products and services / experience in customer support and building long-term relations;
• Successful experience in investment projects and syndicated loans;
• Working experience in international banks and/or development banks and/or commercial banks, including the IIB member states (top 40).

Knowledge, skills and competencies:
• Knowledge of principal lending process stages and bank products;
• Market research ;
• Analysis of customers’ financing requirements;
• Knowledge of international financial markets – preferred;
• Primary financial analysis skills;
• Sales skills (customer search, establishing contacts, conducting negotiations, dealing with objections);
• Presentation skills;
• Skills in providing expert analysis and evaluation of lending projects efficiency;
• Skills in preparing credit and financial documentation;
• Advanced PC user (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel);
• Excellent knowledge of English (advanced level and higher);
• Knowledge of Russian and/or a second foreign language of the IIB member states would be an advantage.
