Our company is growing rapidly and for our growing expertise hub we are searching for experienced candidates for the position of Business Continuity Management Risk SME. Your scope of responsibilities covers multiple locations globally in developing, implementation and monitoring of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework. You maintain continuous global oversight of the status and progress of the non-financial risk matters relevant for your policy and you are the ‘go to’ subject matter expert for business.

The right candidate needs to have a strong risk awareness and knowledge, analytical skills, be proficient in disciplined execution, able to combine content expertise with project management skills and capable of achieving solid results in an international complex and dynamic environment. This entails maintaining close links with all stakeholders involved.

Key responsibilities:


  • Support the Business Partner responsible for the framework on BCM topics
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, business lines, and risk functions, to promote awareness of BCM principles and foster a culture of risk awareness and accountability. Provide guidance and training to employees involved in securing business continuity to ensure consistent adherence to BCM policy and procedures.
  • Community manager: Drive and maintain an active and lively international BCM community.
  • Training: Design and implement training activities related to business continuity management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry guidelines related to business continuity management. Ensure the bank's BCM practices align with regulatory expectations and implement necessary enhancements to maintain compliance.
  • Ongoing Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business continuity plans, policies and procedures and identify areas for improvement.

Personality requirements and skills:


  • Experience and ability to successfully manage different stakeholders on the operational, tactical, and strategic level (5+ years of experience)
  • Well organized and structured, able to prioritize.
  • Curious, eager to learn and understand the needs and expectations (challenge the status quo)
  • Organizational sensitivity with persuasiveness-skills and ability to use indirect influence.
  • Good communication skills and able to explain the business rationale (WHY) relating to different seniority levels (from execution to senior to top management).
  • Performance reporting, result analyses and action follow up.
  • Ability to build bridges, bring people together (interpersonal awareness), act as a sparring partner to various stakeholders.
  • Strong work ethic combined with a structured and disciplined approach, resulting in ‘getting things done’.
  • Knowledge of risk management processes for non-financial, operational risk, and especially business continuity management is big advantage.
