About the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Global KYC organisation is a relatively new organisation in which all KYC related capabilities are combined into a functionally steered organisation. This with the aim to maintain and improve the effective & efficient management of ING’s AML/Financial Economic Crime (FEC) risks, a.o. by establishing standardised guidance, processes, technology and shared operational processing. The CDD and KYC Control domain ensures that ING has a state-of-the-art CDD practice in place, is effectively and efficiently managing the CDD risk and operations and the overall KYC Retail and Wholesale risk across countries to improve both effectiveness and efficiency. It includes definition of the CDD Target Operating Model, in a way to comprise all AML/ KYC related policies and implement this as a global standard across the world, the oversight of the bank wide CDD business as usual (BAU) activities, including operational execution across Retail and Wholesale (service ownership).

Within the CDD Services Transformation team we are looking for a colleague in the role of “KYC Process Design and Control” to bring in KYC and business specific knowledge.

The CDD Services Transformation team’s activities and responsibilities:



  • Defining & owning the CDD Target Operating Model (TOM) and its governance
  • Driving the CDD Transformation programmes bankwide, across Retail & Wholesale Banking, incl. CDD structural solutions, automation & innovation and associated stakeholder management
  • Change oversight, engagement & steering, including steering central & local CDD (change) budgets
  • Coordination of all global CDD risk and controls issues and audits

Our new colleague will contribute to the development and implementation of the E2E CDD solutions as well as to the translation of regulatory KYC requirements into KYC processes, (quality) standards and controls, frameworks and workplace instructions, analysis and reporting to enable the organization to become sustainably better at the execution of Financial Crime policies.


The ideal candidate has the following profile:



  • Knowledge on the KYC process within ING (KYC related Policies, KYC Requirements, global guidance and working place instructions)
  • You will be representing 1st Line of Defence
  • Understanding of Data and Systems used in KYC process
  • Project management skills
  • Good communication skills in writing and in meetings
  • Ability to coordinate with a wide variety of (senior) stakeholders
