Java/JavaScript developer

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Java Developer to work for one of the biggest international IT company, based within our Bratislava office. The successful candidate will work as part of an Agile (Scrum) software development team developing and supporting application software solutions for customer’s specific products. There is scope for a Java Developer or a Senior Java Developer dependent on the relevant experience of the candidate and their performance at interview.

You Will:
• Produce technical designs based on specifications from the BA’s
• Carry out Coding, documenting and testing of technical designs
• Resolve defects in existing code

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

J2EE / Web Services Dev or JavaScript / Web Client Dev:
- J2EE development skills
- Working experience Spring MVC web application and RESTful web service framework
- Working experience with microservices which are spring-boot Docker containers deployed to Rancher
- Working experience coding in java RCP/spring/SWT calling REST services
- Familiarity with DB development/data modeling
- Agile development experience (e.g. SCRUM Master)
- scripting with gradle, groovy
- git feature branching
- Working experience with AngularJS
- Good knowledge of Ionic framework or similar mobile UI javascript frameworks
- Strong javascript coding skills
- Good knowledge of modern frontend, SASS or LESS, bower, grunt, npm
- Familiarity with HTML5 / JavaScript web client development


Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

General and Tools:
- Working knowledge of IBM Whitewater tools utilized by ISSP development and support is preferred
- IBM's Whitewater Agile tools being used for the ISSP project include GitHub Enterprise, ZenHub, Mural, Slack, Travis CI, Docker containers, Bluemix, BlueCloud, Rational DOORS and RQM
- Working knowledge of IBM w3 connections, communities and Box
- Must have excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Must be flexible to pick up work additional responsibilities as needed to support the rest of the ISSP team
- Must be able to cover or back fill other roles within the ISSP team as the need arises
