Direct Tax Professional for Global Financing

Job role summary:

IBM is seeking to hire tax professionals to support direct tax operations for newly formed Global Financing entities in IBM across EMEA. The responsibilities will be focused on, but not limited to, preparation of various tax returns, support of the tax calculations for various returns (CIT, WHT on foreign or domestic supplies where applicable), reporting and internal / external audit support. As part of their role these tax professionals will liaise continuously with the country tax teams and supporting functions such as accounting and treasury to support them mainly on tax compliance issues. A more detailed list of responsibilities may be seen below. The newly formed team of tax professionals will be responsible for multiple entities in the EMEA region and will be part of the Direct Tax Center of Excellence based in Bratislava.


Internal Compliance:

• Cash Tax reporting
• Income Tax Liability reporting
• Corporate Tax reporting
• Review US GAAP to Statutory adjustments
• Other internal reporting (e.g. special measurements for Global Financing)
• Internal Audit support
• Pro-actively seek to improve the current process to ensure that the best support is delivered


External Compliance:

• Preparation of Tax returns and support with filing of the returns
• Tax Pack analysis (where applicable) - providing input on what is needed to prepare the tax return
• Fixed Asset Tax depreciation substance review
• WHT management (everything that can be done remotely - e.g. certificates requests, calculations, reclaim, tax credits management).
• Calculation of CIT and prepayments, preparation of the returns (stand alone, consolidated return or return for country specific taxes where applicable)
• Review of the Tax Return with the CTM
• External Audit support
