GBS Pricer

GBS Solution Pricer supports GBS Engagement Teams as a financial Trusted Business Advisor who works in a pre-sales team of highly specialized Subject Matter Experts within well-defined competencies (e.g. Technical Solution Managers, Legal Advisors, Bid Managers, Credit Managers).

This team is responsible for developing winning proposals and for selling IBM GBS services. This role ensures that the pricing is compliant with formal headquarter delegations, and approved pricing tools are used for all business case construction.

The position requires the gathering of input from all SMEs, the review of price and financials (I&E, P&L), the advisory on the commercial clauses of the contract and overall financial solution. GBS Pricers must be able to work with minimal management direction and communicate well with client and IBM executives. Outstanding communication skills are needed, both verbal and written. GBS Pricers use a wide range of technical, financial and business skills for the development of complex, multi-year, business cases, all with the goal to ensure consistency with corporate rules and regulations while meeting client requirements and satisfaction. Understanding of the financials data and accounting practices is key.
GBS pricers work with autonomy and integrity, acting as the Financial Controller within the Engagement team. They remain circumspect using good judgment and discretion.


The successful candidates should possess a solid background in more than one of the following competencies:

• Financial understanding: Knows how IBM financial structure work and understands the financial terminology; Has a flavor for numbers and understands the dynamics in the financial community; Likes to work with spreadsheets and financial tools; Has analytical skills.
• Financial Controller understanding/CFO: is able to look at the financials and act as a “pre-signature controller” on the business cases and proposals;
• Communication, collaboration skills and teamwork: Is able to pay attention and understand complex descriptions; Is able to work in teams; Can communicate complex messages in a simple way and arguments the decisions taken
• Business understanding: Has understanding of the GBS business and how technical solution can influence costs and profitability
• Negotiation skills: Is able to negotiate content of deals. Bring understanding and clarity around financial effects
• Flexibility in working hours: Available to work long hours or during weekends/Bank Holidays when tight customer deadlines require it. On the other hand a very flexible policy on Home Office is applied.
• Deal Shaping: Discusses the deal strategy with the Opportunity Owner and Management to influence the shape of the deal from a financial point of view.
