Smarter Universities and Skills of the Future Consultant

Job Description

IBM International Services Centre is now looking for Smarter Universities and Skills of the Future Consultant, a leader responsible for building a sustainable pipeline of workforce candidates for the next 4-10 years in Slovakia. The successful candidate will focus on long-term goals and broad ranging actions that shift the education culture in Slovakia in support of sustainable needs of IBM ISC and IBM Slovakia.
The responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Influencing change in the university education system in Slovakia to promote more business valued skill set for the services sector skills that is to ensure that most graduates have some form of technical skill integrated into their major of choice in support of digital business as well as business relevant soft skills such as presentation, critical thinking, problem solving, project management (including Agile) and teamwork, and process innovation.
• Influencing change in the high school education system to enable more students to carry the basic skill sets described above and be ready to enter the workplace without the need for a university education, or to enter the workplace in parallel with pursuing further education.
• Partnering with key allies in influencing these changes, including ministries, municipalities, universities and schools, and government and non government organisations at Slovakia and/or EU level, who have similarly aligned interests.
• Using the engagement in these various activities and network to help identify specific candidates for the Smarter University programs run within IBM and get them involved in our programs.
• Strengthen not only the IBM image as Employer of choice on the Slovak market but also the image of Slovakia in the V4 and eventually in Europe as a location of choice for new missions.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Native Slovak
• Fluent English
• General but good understanding of the current political and educational structure within Slovakia
• Top communication skills with a focus on negotiation, lobbying and consulting.
• At least basic project management ability.
• At least a basic technical understanding or background
• Strong Leadership capability


Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Knowledge of other countries political and educational structure would be an additional advantage
